The Rockwell RK3440K VersaCut Circular Saw is the perfect power tool for anyone who enjoys tackling home improvement projects. With this easy to use saw, you'll be able to demo kitchen cabinets or cut ceramic tile in half the time it would take with other tools. A sleek design and lightweight construction make it ideal for use in tough, awkward locations too, and the common blade size makes switching blades hassle-free.
In this review, I'll be discussing the unique features that make this power tool a great choice. I’ll also talk about other reviewers' experiences with the saw as well as the circular saw's pros and cons.
Powerful 4.0 Amp Circular Saw
Rockwell created this circular saw with 4.0 amps for powerful cuts. With this much power, the RK3440K's 3.8-inch blade can easily cut through laminate counter tops, piping, oak, ceramic and stone tiles, cement, backer board, aluminum sheets, and thin sheet metal.
To help you align your cuts, the saw is equipped with a laser indicator. Since this Rockwell saw is corded instead of battery-operated, you won't have to worry about it dying or losing its strength in the middle of a project. However, for some projects, you may have to employ the use of extension cords and adjust your work space so there isn't a risk of getting caught up in the cords.
Slim and Ergonomic Design
This Rockwell RK3440K Saw has a slim, ergonomic design. With its sleek build, you'll have good control of the saw no matter what you're doing. The compactness of this tool also allows you to maneuver in tight spaces with maximum control.
Clearance on the left of the saw is 1 1/8" and 2 1/8" on the right. The shoe has a 1 1/2" clearance. The handle of the saw also decreases user fatigue and thins as it nears the trigger. The only issue with the handle thinning as it nears the trigger is that people with smaller or weaker hands may find it awkward to hold onto to for long periods of time. Thankfully, this is something that can be overcome with repeated use.
Offers an ergonomic design, powerful motor, and plunge and depth cuts indicators for highly accurate sawing
Plunge Cut Indicators
Adding to the versatility of the Rockwell RK3440K Circular Saw is plunge cut indicators. With this feature, you'll be able to see clearly where your blade will cut before you pull the trigger. This model is best used to create plunge cuts, but versatile cuts can be accomplished too if you're very cautious while doing so.

Easy to Set Depth Cut Indicator
You won't have to worry about cutting too deep or too shallow when you use this Rockwell VersaCut circular saw. The tool is created with easy to set depth cut indicators. The saw can be set to cut as shallow as 1/16" and as deep as 1". While this feature is extremely useful, it can take a few tries to get comfortable with it.
