The tool is compatible with other products from the same company and will provide you with durability and versatility for years.
In this review, I'll go over the best features of the cordless impact driver. I'll also provide tips to help you determine if you should order this driver and a list of items you may need to make it even more useful at home or work.
DeWalt has added a frameless motor to the DC825B impact driver, which means that the battery life is greatly extended. The addition of a frameless motor also decreases the overall size of the driver and allows you to get into tighter spaces easier. It's important to note that not all impact drivers are created with a frameless design, so you may be hard-pressed to find a tool similar to this one.
1,330 lbs. of Torque
Despite its small size and compact design, the DeWalt cordless impact driver delivers 1,330 lbs. or torque. With this much torque in your hand, you can tackle light to medium tasks with ease. It doesn't have enough torque to tackle some auto-related tasks but has plenty of power for other types of fastening applications.
Compact, lightweight and portable - perfect for use in tight spaces
Compact Size and Weight
To help reduce user fatigue, the DC825B is created with a compact size and weight. The compact design and reduced weight make it easy for use by people with limited hand use. Whether you're tackling small tasks around the house or adding this tool to your contractor bag, you can count on its lightweight and small size to keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

Built with Replaceable Brushes
The brushes on the 18-volt impact driver are replaceable. Replacement brushes are much easier to replace than an entire unit, so this will save you money in the long run. Some buyers opt to buy replaceable brushes when they purchase the tool to reduce downtime in the future.

The DeWalt DC825B impact driver is a great addition to your toolbox, especially if you're already a fan of the power tool company. With so many past purchasers giving this tool the thumbs up across various independent review sites, it's easy to see that people love this product. The majority of negative reviews were due to misunderstandings regarding the product (i.e. some past purchasers hadn't realized that this is sold as a bare tool).
As this tool is sold in a bare condition, it doesn't come with anything but the tool itself and an instruction manual. What this means is a NiCAD battery and a charger must be purchased separately. However, if you own other 18-volt tools from DeWalt, the battery and charger from those tools will be compatible with this product.
Another explanation for some of the negative reviews is that buyers thought they were purchasing an impact wrench instead of an impact driver. An impact wrench is often used by mechanics to remove lug nuts from tires. This DeWalt 1/4" impact driver doesn't have enough torque to remove lug nuts from tires or perform other auto mechanic duties. So, keep that in mind before making a purchase.
